What: 8 mi group run yesterday! Finally getting some mileage in with the group that I'm happy with.
Who: TNT peeps
Where: Sparks, NCR trail
When: 7am
Best parts: Oh, I don't know, only finishing FIRST :) And running into Emily at Wegmans...
Training in general has been going well this week. Had a nasty chafing incident with the sports bra a couple days ago (OH LOOK... DERMIS!) that may have gotten itself infected, and I think the fact that my sports bra was cotton may be to blame. I always thought that the concept of "wicking" was a money-making scam made up by athletic companies to sell their synthetic fabric-based clothes. However, I think I finally understand when they talk about how wet fabrics chafe. And then last week on my long run, I actually took off my cotton tank top (appropriated from my regular wardrobe to my workout stuff) and was actually able to WRING IT OUT, several times. And this tank top is SMALL. Deeeeeeesgusting. I don't even want to think about it. So, I will probably be looking into some sort of other thing to wear on top instead of old cotton tank tops. Sad, because sporty clothing is so $$$, and I'm really trying to save money so I can buy myself a bicycle. To be more specific, I want to give Nikhil some money to go buy a bicycle from another guy named Nikhil in San Francisco, and then drive it back to Baltimore for me. Bugg is the best :) and so is craigslist.
Update: I got a picture that is sort of appropriate to training/frightening. I'm trying to lose some pounds so I am not lugging around so much weight while I'm running (fat, interestingly, does not at all do any work or contribute to going faster). You would think this would be easy, with me running so much and all, but it is actually pretty hard. I eat a lot of bread and cheese. All the time. I cannot help it (slash don't care enough). So anyways, I've lost about 2 or 3 lbs, but it's probably actually a pound or two more than that, considering my body has decided, "I know, let's try something different. Instead of fat, LET'S ACCUMULATE MUSCLE!"
Holy crap, this wasn't supposed to happen (and is much more disturbing in person):

After the marathon, I am going to look into female body building (btw, google image-ing "female bodybuilding" just gave me a whole bunch of inappropriate images):

I TOTALLY HAVE BIGGER CALVES THAN THIS WOMAN
