I love Harrison's Roast Beef

I think Harrison's roast beef sandwiches might be the most tasty things in the universe, maybe second only to pan fried pork potstickers done right (crispy bottoms with the thick skin, and the juice that squirts out when you take a bite... the crescent-shaped ones that stand up with the pinched edge pointing straight up. None of this "gyoza pot sticker" thin translucent oily skinned wrinkly flat trash that lays limply on its side on your plate that seems to have become the standard for Asian restaurants. OOOOooo gyoza frustrate me so much).

So, I have been craving onion rings for a long time (I have a weakness for fried food), so today I admit that I bought a little dish of onion rings at the cafeteria today. My favorite are the small rings. Anyways, I ate a couple of them, but to be honest, they weren't all that good. They had the smooth batter and they were kind of just oily... I had to smush them between some napkins, you konw, to get out the excess oil, and that's always kind of gross. I fed a bunch to the birds hanging around our table and I feel like they are all probably sick from too much human oily food in one day.

Today's onion ring disappointment kind of made me think about how good a Harrison's roast beef sandwich, extra sauce, with a side of onion rings would be right now, or for that matter, any time soon. The restaurant is kind of dirty, almost the American equivalent to a typical Chinese restaurant. It's pretty clear that they decided on a decor about 20 years ago, and have just gone with it since. The last time I went, there was a cigarette dispenser in the entryway. The place has been around for a while, so some of the grease and dirt that has accumulated over time is there for good. But, the decor doesn't really matter because I never eat there (I think my parents think the place is a little too dirty), and the food makes up for it by far. The onion rings are bready and seem to disguise the amount of oil they are probably laden with. The sandwich has hot, freshly sliced, tender roast beef piled high, and doused with their special sauce. eeeeeeeeeeeee! And if you ask for extra sauce, when you unwrap your sandwich, there will be plenty of extra on the paper to dip your onion rings in. The last reason why I really love Harrision's is the giant jar of Kosher pickles sitting next to the register. I never have gotten one, but I'm glad to know they are there if I ever want a humongous pickle.

Okay, now I'm kind of depressed because I know I won't get any Harrison's any time soon... Here is another black bird painting to cheer me up:

I'm reading this and it's bringing a smile to my face. Particularly because in the first paragraph, you discuss food with such unbridled passion. YYEAAEH!!!1!!one! You lead by example in living life with passion.
